I'm quite keen on promoting intelligence and general knowledge among individuals. Although I'm quite bad at remembering things I need to remember, I tend to store away more mundane things in the farther reaches of my brain - Latin names for birds, reciting the periodic table in order, that sort of thing.
So what I thought might be fun/interesting would be for everyone to offer up a fact. I don't want anything made up, this has to be for real. And most of all it has to be interesting. I will give positive 'rep' for good stuff, and will privately curse you for anything obviously made up. If you find something interesting and remotely useful, you can leave rep for the member that made the post.
RULES
1. Nothing rude. 2. Only ONE fact per post. No serial posting.
So here's mine to start the ball rolling.
Dynamite is made from peanuts.
Enjoy!
