Ghost Stories

from a new person

Hello, i'm a new member to this website and i'm really intrigued by everything that's been shared here. I believe that i've had several experiences that can't be explained by conventional methods. I guess I want to share a couple of my experiences and not have people thinkg that i'm one card shy of a full deck. Anyways...

I was employed as a chef at a country club. Other people had said they had seen something or felt like they were being watched. One of my cooks and myself were in the kitchen early in the morning and were the only 2 people in the building. While in there, an older, gray haired gentleman pushed open the door, stuck his head in and looked @ us like he needed something. I asked if I could help him and he just backed out of the doorway and let the door close. A few seconds later I went to look for him and couldn't find anybody. There hadn't been enough time for anybody to leave the building and I had locked the doors behind us when we came into work. I went back and asked my coworker if she had seen anything and she said that an older gray haired man had looked in @ us in the kitchen. Needless to say it freaked both of us out. A few days later I was talking with one of the older members who had been coming to the club w/ her parents since she was a little girl. I told her about what we had seen and described the man to her and she said that particular gentleman was a member when she was younger and had been dead for @ least 50 some years. She told me that other people have ran into him and that he's always dressed in the old style of knickers the golfers used to wear. She said that he was an avid golfer and spent a lot of time @ the club.

The other incident I would like to share is a very special and comforting thing for me. After my dad retired, dad and mom moved back the family farm that's been in the family since his great grandfather built it. Due to health issues, I had to move back home a couple of years ago. While my grandparent's were still living onf the farm, my grandfather(Poppy) died in 1996 from lung cancer. He wanted to die @ home so hospice came in and set a bed up for him in one of the bedrooms. This is the room he passed away in. When I moved back home, i moved into this bedroom. knowing that poppy died in this room kind of freaked me out, but then I got used to it. A few months later, I woke up around 2 in the morning because it felt like someone had sat down on the bed. @ first i thought it was my dog, but when i became more awake he wasn't there. He was still in the basement where he sleeps @ and the door was closed w/ no way for him to open it. I was still groggy enough that I didn't really think anything more about it and went back to sleep. About a week later the same thing happened, still with no way to explain why it felt like someone had sat down on the bed. I even ran my hand over the area and it felt like there was an indentation in the matress, pretty soon it went away and I went back to sleep. Not sure when it happened again, but that time I said is that you poppy? I immediately felt such a comfort and serene feeling that I believe he was there with me. When he was alive I would always greet him with "Howdy Cowboy" when I first saw him. This experience has happened on and off since then about every month and a half or so. I always say howdy cowboy and that same feeling of peace and serenity come over me. It usually lasts for 10-15 min or so and then I say that i need to go back to sleep. It feels like somebody rises from sitting on the bed and I can go back to sleep. I believe that Poppy's my guardian angel and every now and then he comes to see me and to let me know he's still around. I sleep in the basement during the summer months and never experience it down there, so I guess its confined to that upstairs bedroom.

Thank you for bearing with me through this post. Please comment...

Blessings to you all...Mikel
